Dalysgrove Dressage League 2012

Dalysgrove are proud to host the Saoirse Saddlery Dressage League 2012 at Creagh Equestrian Centre, Ballinasloe.  First leg was held on Sunday 22nd January 2012 and what a great start to the year it was with 70 competitors starting with the popular advanced primary competition.  Daylysgrove’s very own Pat Touhy on Pappin took home the red ribbon, with Donna Murray on kikko in second and third on Temple troy, Bernadette Flaharty on Cheeky in fourth and Pat Touhy again on Memphis in fifth and in sixth place went to Caoilinn de Bairead Cavalier Kim from Corrib.
John Kelehan on Park Oisin from Corrib won the primary dressage with Maria Fox in second place, Monica Hegarty was third.  Christine Rohan was forth and sixth with Annette Donohue placed fifth.
In the intermediate dressage Congratulations goes to both Niamh Macken on Captain Smirnoft from Ballinasloe and Clare Lenihan on Outside Track from Tonabrockey, with Maria Griffinin second and Lorraine Coughlan in third.  Lorraine Coughlan was pulled in fourth, with Kevin Clogher in fifth and Niamh Hegarty in sixth.
In the advanced intermediate competition   John Joe Grace on Push the Button and Williams Nephew from Slieve Bloom was first and second, Marita Shannon was third, Grainne Kelly was fourth and Niamh O'Brien was fifth
Slieve Bloom’s Jane Grace on Push the Button won the open dressage and was also third on Williams Nephew with Mary Mitchell in second,  Danielle Touhy in fourth with Damien Carey on Troy and sixth on Omega.
The dressage to music was won by Clare Lenihan on Outside Track from Tonabrockey with Niamh Macken taking second place and Donna Murray in third Caroline Rushe was fourth and sixth and Caithriona Goaley in fifth!
Well done to all the winners and riders of the day, one of the reasons for hosting the dressage league so early in the year is to try and get riders back riding properly after the Christmas.  Last year we noted that there were a number of animals that had been over-fed and under-exercised during the break and that some of them had gotten very hairy too - and their horses were no better!  The next leg is on 5th February and third and final leg is on 19th February 2012.
